Inner Peace, Outer Freedom – The Reiki Road

The Autumn Equinox, when day and night are in balance, marks the moment to give thanks for what we have harvested in life, and to create space to release what no longer serves us.

This ritual is gentle, symbolic, and connecting – you can perform it alone or with a small group.

Preparation

  • Choose a quiet place, preferably in nature or decorated with autumn elements (leaves, apples, nuts, candles).

  • Place a bowl or basket with seasonal fruit or nuts as a symbol of abundance.

  • Put a candle in the center as a point of light.

  • Prepare a small piece of paper and a pen.

The Ritual

1. Opening – Connection with Breath & Reiki

  • Sit quietly, close your eyes.

  • Bring your hands into Gassho (prayer position) in front of your heart.

  • Breathe in and out deeply three times and invite Reiki energy to flow through you.

  • Silently say: “I honor the balance of light and dark, inner and outer, giving and receiving.”

2. Gratitude

  • Take a piece of fruit or a nut from the basket.

  • Hold it in your hands and feel the energy of the earth, the sun, the rain, and the seasons that worked together to bring it forth.

  • Speak aloud or in your mind what you are grateful for from this past season.

3. Release

  • Write on the paper what you wish to release (a thought, pattern, worry, or anything that feels too heavy).

  • Fold the paper and place it next to the candle.

  • Imagine the flame transforming it into light and space.

4. Intention for the Autumn Season

  • Place your hands again in Gassho.

  • Say: “I release what no longer serves me, and I welcome the power of stillness, rest, and inner growth.”

  • Feel this intention anchoring itself in your heart.

5. Closing

  • Return the fruit or nut to the basket as a symbol of sharing and reciprocity.

  • Gently bow toward the candle in gratitude to yourself, to nature, and to the energy of balance.

  • Blow out the candle and close in silence.
